The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH within the project “Innovation and Digitalisation in SMEs in BiH (EU4DigitalSME)” announces the vacancy for a:
Local Intern(m/f/d)full-time

The overall purpose 
The local intern will learn about international cooperation and specifically receive insights in the topics of sustainable economic development, private sector development and digitalisation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The intern will have an opportunity to learn the basic processes of project management and administration, details of communications, conceptualisation and organisation of various events, presentations, panel discussions, etc. At the same time, the intern will support the technical as well as administrative project team in implementation of project activities.

Main tasks and responsibilities
The local intern will assume the following tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Supports project team in the implementation of the project’s objectives concerning the following fields of action:
    • Support to the project team in the organisation of events and trainings, workshops and seminars for private sector represenattives;
    • Support to the Communication Specialist and project team in regular updating of the website and social media accounts of the projects,
    • Support to the Communication Specialist and project team in the development and dissemination of public information materials;
    • Support to the project team in compilation and editing of project publications, reports and presentations.
  • Performs other duties and tasks at the request of the project team and needed for the overall project implementation.

Required qualifications, competences and skills 
Qualifications 

  • University degree (bachelor), or a university student currently enrolled in the final year of undergraduate studies in the fields of International Relations, Journalism, Economics (Marketing), Languages or Social Sciences. Other relevant fields of studies – especially those related directly to the fields of private sector development will also be considered in case the candidate is able to demonstrate strong competences presented below.

Other knowledge, additional competences 

  • First experiences in writing well elaborated articles and stories
  • First experiences in communications, including content production and web administration
  • First experience in online marketing and social media tools 
  • Experience in analytical work and research
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language in writing and in speech
  • Proficient knowledge and hands-on experience in using of Microsoft Office suite
  • High degree of organisation and an eye for details
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the German language will be considered an additional asset

Location: GIZ offices located in Sarajevo.
Expected start date: 17 April 2023
Duration: The internship is offered with a duration of 6 months
