According to the media, six people were involved in the murder, and with today’s arrests, a total of five suspects are behind bars as three were arrested at the end of June. Members of the special unit are still searching for the sixth and last suspect.

It all happened on the night of April 25-26 when a group of six people arrived, smashed the windows of a Fiat Ducato van, and started shooting. Džoni Sulejmanović was sleeping in the van with his wife. She managed to escape, but three bullets hit Sulejmanović in vital organs, causing his death on the spot.

It was reportedly a revenge killing.

According to the reconstruction of events, the murder occurred after an argument that took place a few hours earlier. The leader of the revenge was already arrested Roberto Ahmetović, who had been beaten by Sulejmanović on the street just a few hours earlier. Their physical altercation was caught on surveillance cameras.

After a few hours, Ahmetović gathered people and started the revenge. According to Italian media, it was premeditated murder as the use of firearms clearly indicated intention.

Before leaving the crime scene, the suspects took gold jewelry and €4,000 that Sulejmanović had in the van. The testimony of Sulejmanović’s wife, who recognized the attackers, as well as surveillance camera footage, was crucial in identifying the suspects, independent sources report.
